You Say You Want A Resolution

I realize that by this time of the year (one week in) many New Year’s resolutions have been abandoned, lost, forgotten, or at least cheated on. Most of those resolutions tend to center around the desire to do something better or more consistently; eat better, exercise more, be better organized, save more money, travel more, etcetera. I don’t make resolutions myself... Well, that’s not entirely true. My resolution for the last three years has been the same: "make more art." Even though most of the art I make isn’t very good – it’s rarely anything I would share with anyone else, I still find the process of making it fun and stress-relieving.
With that said, in light of the year we've just lived through and the way the new one has started off, I propose some alternative resolutions for all of us to consider, provided here, in a handy bullet-pointed list:
Be more kind!
Treat people better (with dignity & respect)
Be more empathetic
Resist jumping to conclusions
Pay more attention to verifiable facts
Pay less attention to opinions
Read/Listen More – Talk Less
Embrace diversity
and BE MORE KIND! (did I say that one already?)
